In September - October 2016, the AISC proposed, and received feedback on, the division of the Rural and Related IRC into two separate IRCs: the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management IRC; and the Animal Care and Management IRC. Overall, respondents were supportive of the division.
However a majority of respondents requested a further division of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management IRC into:
- Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping, Conservation and Land Management IRC, and
- Agriculture IRC (encompassing agriculture and production horticulture).
Feedback from the initial consultation process also suggested that arboriculture qualifications and units be placed under the oversight of the Forest Management and Harvesting IRC which now includes a designated position for Arboriculture Australia.
IRC Structure
The tables below show proposed structures for the Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping, Conservation and Land Management IRC and the Agriculture IRC. The proposed structures for the IRCs were open for public comment and consultation up to 14 February 2017.
Nominations for vacant positions on the IRCs will open at a later date.
If you are interested in nominating for a vacant position on the Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping, Conservation and Land Management IRC or the Agriculture IRC, please keep an eye on this webpage.
