The AISC seeks to ensure that the membership of the Property Services IRC, as a whole, provides the best possible industry coverage and expertise to support training package development for the industry.
Please note that while it may not be possible to include every nominee on the IRC, it is important to remember that the Skills Service Organisation (Artibus Innovation) and the IRC will consult widely during the training package development process and will be supported by Technical Advisory Committee members who may be consulted on technical and related specific industry information on an as-needs basis to support the decision-making of the committee.
Further information about the role of IRCs and how they will operate can be found in the IRC operating framework.
IRC Structure - Feedback
The draft structure for the Property Services IRC was published on this website on 23 November 2016, providing an opportunity for industry to comment on whether the structure would adequately represent the industry. The AISC welcomed the comments received from a range of stakeholders that the structure was largely appropriate for the sector and should proceed to nominations.
In response to feedback received regarding coverage of the training package and of the various sectors that comprise property services, additional positions have been allocated within the structure. Building Services Contractors Association of Australia (BSCAA) have been included as a peak organisation representing the cleaning sector and the Australian Workers Union (AWU) were included to ensure coverage of employee associations representing different groups of workers.
Energy efficiency, the environment, and sustainability was identified as another important and growing sector within property services. An additional individual expertise position was allocated and is now open for nomination.
For more information about the review process please refer to the IRC review.
Organisations that have already been allocated a position on the IRC do not have to submit a nomination. The AISC will directly invite these organisations to nominate their representative.
