The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) called for nominations from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the vacant organisational and individual industry expert positions on the Automotive Light Vehicle Industry Reference Committee (IRC) as listed in the table below. Nominations closed COB Monday 28 November 2016.
The Automotive Light Vehicle IRC will have responsibility for national training package qualifications relevant to the:
- Automotive electrical sector that services, repairs and overhauls electrical systems and components for vehicles and machinery, and all facets of electrical work including air-conditioning services, battery sales and sales of new and overhauled parts.
- Automotive mechanical and specialisation sector that services and repairs light vehicles and motorcycles.
- Automotive passenger vehicle manufacturing sector and component parts suppliers.

IRC Structure
The draft structure for the Automotive Light Vehicle IRC was published on this website on 10 October 2016, providing an opportunity for industry to comment on whether the structure would adequately represent the industry. The AISC welcomed the comments received from a range of stakeholders and there was general agreement that the structure was fit for purpose and should proceed to a call for nominations.
