Automotive Allied Industry Reference Committee

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) called for nominations from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the vacant organisational and individual industry expert positions on the Automotive Allied Industry Reference Committee (IRC) as listed in the table below. Nominations closed COB Monday 28 November 2016.

The Automotive Allied IRC will have responsibility for national training package qualifications relevant to the:

  • Bicycle sector that sell, service and repair bicycles, parts and accessories.
  • Marine sector that services and repairs the mechanical and electrical systems of marine vessels, and includes both pleasure vessels up to 100 feet long and small commercial vessels.
  • Outdoor power equipment sector that provides sales, service and repair of electrical and mechanical systems of outdoor power equipment, and includes both domestic and commercial equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters, jack hammers, concrete polishers as well the rental equipment market.
  • Automotive sales, parts, administration and management sector that buy and sell automotive vehicles and parts, including administration and management roles in businesses.

IRC Structure

The draft structure for the Automotive Allied IRC was published on this website on 10 October 2016, providing an opportunity for industry to comment on whether the structure would adequately represent the industry. The AISC welcomed the comments received from a range of stakeholders and there was general agreement that the structure was fit for purpose and should proceed to a call for nominations.
