Mr John Pollaers, Chair of the Australian Industry and Skills Committee today welcomed the launch of an Expressions of Interest process for organisations to support industry in developing training packages.
“Australia has a strong and highly respected national training system – characterised by strong industry leadership” Mr Pollaers said.
“I recently travelled to China and Korea with the Assistant Minister for Education and Training, Simon Birmingham. Both countries are interested in how well we have engaged industry in our training system.”
“Australian Government’s new model for developing training packages will build on that strength while bringing efficiencies to the system.
“The new skills service organisations identified through this expression of interest process will provide professional enabling services to assist industry in this vital work. They will operate across a combination of industry sectors and will facilitate corporation and partnerships across industry” Mr Pollaers said.
“I would encourage organisations that are well placed to deliver these sorts of services to consider this opportunity.”
