HOMESTAY FACILITIES

Welcome to ‘Homestay’, A.I.S.C. in Townsville, Queensland, Australia.

Townsville is a tropical ‘Homestay’ experience with the easy going lifestyle of the tropics and rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef at its backdoor.

International Students studying abroad enjoy staying in Australian homes living with a family, and what better way to learn our language and our customs.

Most of the ‘Homestay’ houses in Townsville have 3-4 bedrooms, the master bedroom having its own ‘ensuite’ bathroom, a lounge room or sitting room, a family room where the TV is usually kept and internet access, dining or formal eating area. The kitchen usually consists of hot plates, microwave oven and dishwasher for those busy people. Because of the climate most rooms have overhead fans and air conditioners.

The main bathroom usually has a separate shower or a shower in the bath, the laundry has an automatic washing machine and some-times an electric clothes dryer, but because of our superb weather, most people hang their laundry out to dry in the fresh air. Storage sheds or lockups are used for storing bikes, garden equipment and electrical tools, the cars are kept in either a one or two door garage or carport.

Much of our life is spent outdoors and many gardens have a barbeque and entertainment area, some include a swimming pool.

Host homes often have bikes, helmets and sporting equipment around their homes, and are close to riding paths, parks and river frontages.

Our homes are centrally located to schools, James Cook University, Hospital, Library and all sporting venues, shopping centres and easy access to public transportation.
